Habitat

Chahuchiwadi and Jamugulwadi Villages are located the Karjat - Murbad road. This area is to the west of the Western Ghats, along the foothills of Bhimashankar Sanctuary. The region has a high rainfall of about 3000 mm, but is relatively dry throughout the rest of the year. The region has laterite soil, and the hydro-geological structure is such that most of the rainwater flows to the sea, rather than percolate into the ground.
