Case Description :
Damunaik is a 15 years tribal (Yanadi) boy hailing from a remote village named chikkapalli of kuppam mandal in Chittoor district. He is from a very poor labor family. He lost his mother 2 years back in an accident when she was working in a welding shop. During work one of the welding rods pierced in to her stomach and she expired on the spot. He has two elder sisters who never studied in the school. They were married early in their age and left to in-laws house. His father is a heavy alcoholic and never bothers about his family or his only son who is alone at home without any support. His father spends all his earnings for his alcohol and the child has to suffer a lot without food other needs. But Damu is very much interested in education. By seeing this local teachers admitted him in Bangarupalyam high school and sheltered him in nearby ST hostel. But his educational standard was very low. He was struggling a lot to cope up with the difficult subjects like English, science and mathematics. ROPES special coaching classes helped him a lot to improve his standards and prepare him for his X class public Exam (Government exam). ROPES qualified special coaching teachers provided the student good coaching. They talked with each and every student and identified the problems they are facing in their academics and coached them need basely. ROPES provided him educational material like note books and stationeries and provided evening snacks. Damu also worked hard to get through his X class government exam. Damu got 8/10 grade in English, 10/10 grade in maths and 9/10 grade in science. He is blessed and lucky enough to get a seat in ITI in Kuppam in Chittoor district and his aim is to complete Mechanical engineering but his poverty does not allow him to study engineering. But after completing his ITI course he wants to join in engineering course. For that he is doing part time work during holidays and evenings to earn money for his further studies. His ambition is however he wants to become a mechanical engineer. He very much grateful to VOLKART Foundation Indian Trust and ROPES. Case Description :
Udaykumar is a 15 years dalit (SC, Mala) boy belongs to Vootuvanka village in Bangarupalyam mandal in Chittoor distrct. He hails from a very poor family. He has two elder sisters and one younger brother. His sisters are studying B.A and intermediate and his younger brother is studying 8th standard. His parents are daily wage labourers. It is very difficult for them to feed four children and their old parents in their meagre earning which they get from their hard labour. They find it very difficult to fulfil their children's needs. And the boy's parents are unable to give their children good education and other needs. His parents were worried about their daughters marriage and education. Uday was studying in government high school in Bangarupalyam and sheltered in Government SC hostel in Bangarupalyam. Evenings he works in a vehicle service station and earns Rs. 20/- per day to help his family. He was very much interested in education but his academic standard was very poor. He was struggling a lot to cope up with the difficult subjects like English, science and mathematics. ROPES special coaching classes helped him a lot to improve his standards and prepare him for his X class public Exam (Government exam). ROPES provided him educational material like note books and stationeries and provided evening snacks. ROPES qualified special coaching teachers provided the student good coaching. They talked with each and every student and identified the problems they are facing in their academics and coached them need basely. Young qualified ROPES coaching teachers gave special attention to each and every student in coaching and taught them very patiently according to the student's level of understanding. Case Description :
Soni is a poor dalit girl hails from a remote village, mothigunta, paleru village in Bangaru palyam mandal in Chittoor district. Her parents are very poor daily wage labours. She, her younger brother and sister along her parents and grandparents live in a small thatched hut which leaks for a small drizzling also. Her parents find it very difficult to feed 3 children and their old parents in their meagre earning which they get from their hard labour. They find it very difficult to fulfil their children's physical and educational needs. It was very difficult for the children to study in a narrow hut under blind lighting. They do not have a school in their village. They have to come to Venkatagiri village for primary school and for high school to Bangarupalyam which is 6 kms away from their village. Soni was studying in Bangarupalyam high school and stayed in SC hostel. She was very much interested in education but her academic standard was very poor. She was an average student. She was struggling a lot to cope up with the difficult subjects like English, science and mathematics. ROPES special coaching classes helped a lot to improve her standards and prepare her for her X class public Exam (Government exam). ROPES provided her educational material like note books and stationeries and provided evening snacks. ROPES qualified special coaching teachers provided the student good coaching. Case Description :
Kaveri a 15 years old ST (yanadi) girl hails from a remote village called yanadi colony 5 Km from Paleru village, Bangarupalyam mandal of Chittoor district. She belongs to very poor family consisting of parents and two younger brothers. Her parents are seasonal agri labours earning Rs.30000/- annually. Parents are illiterates and ignorant of education value. They live in a small thatched hut. They do not have even electricity facility to their hut. For primary school children has to walk 5 kms from their village. For high school they have to go 7 to 8 kms from their village. Kavri's parents are not interested to send her to school. It was very difficult for them to meet her and her brothers education needs, food and other needs. They stopped her from school and asked her to go for cooli. But Kaveri interested in education and she refused to go for work and forced her parents to join her in the school. ROPES field staff counsled her parents and helped her to join in Bangarupalyam high school and stayed in ST hostel in Bangarupalyam. But she was not very sharp in studies. She was an average student in academics. She was struggling a lot to cope up with the difficult subjects like English, science and mathematics. ROPES special coaching classes helped a lot to improve her standards and prepare her for her X class public Exam (Government exam). ROPES provided her educational material like note books and stationeries and provided evening snacks. ROPES qualified special coaching teachers provided the student good coaching. They interacted with each and every student and identified the problems they are facing in their academics and coached them need basely. Case Description :
Sandeep is a 16 years young boy hailing from Mogili venkatagiri village of Bangarupalyam. His parents seasonal agri labours. He has two elder brothers. His first brother started his life as a child labour. Family's poverty made him a child labour. They earn Rs. 36000/- annum, which is not at all sufficient for the family's basic needs and children's education and health needs. His parents are illiterates. This family is also out casted like any other untouchable family. There is a primary school in their village. But untouchable children are treated differently. They are not given any encouragement in the school. They are separated from the other students during their classes, mid day meals and in any school activities. In his village no SC child crossed the X class successfully. Few children will reach X class, but they also fail in that and go for cooli to lead the life. But Sandeep aimed differently. Though he is an average student he passed X class with, A grade by getting 8.3/10. He witnesses that this he could achieve this because of ROPES special coaching. ROPES special coaching classes helped him a lot to improve his standards and prepare him for his X class public Exam (Government exam). And the boy's parents are unable to give their children good education and other needs He has one elder sister and one younger brother who are studying Intermediate first year and IX class. He is interested in education. To lessen the burden to his parents he joined in Bangarupalyam ST hostel and government high school in Bangarupalyam. ROPES provided him educational material like note books and stationeries and provided evening snacks. Prabhakar also worked hard to get through his X class government exam. ROPES qualified special coaching teachers provided the student good coaching. They talked with each and every student and identified the problems they are facing in their academics and coached them need basely. Young qualified ROPES coaching teachers gave special attention to each and every student in coaching and taught them very patiently according to the student's level of understanding. His interest in education and his aim to become a software engineer made him to achieve greater success in his X class by getting “A+” grade (9.2) in his public exam. At present he got a seat in IIIT (International Institute of Information Technology) at Idupulapaya, Kadapa district, his first step to reach his aim of becoming software engineer.
